Our first Ray Scholar - Taris Keiper
Our Chapter's first Ray Aviation scholarship recipient is Taris Keiper. Taris is a senior at Dublin High School and concurrently attends Las Positas Middle College. He has been involved with EAA since he was 10 years old, when he participated in an EAA Composites Construction class. He began his flight training as a Young Eagle, and has already completed online ground school and the written exam.
Taris is an active volunteer in our chapter, often found marshaling aircraft at our Young Eagles rallies. Taris plans to study aeronautical engineering in college in the pursuit of a career working in the design of electric VTOLs. He is also a member of our Sling 2 and Cri Cri build project.

Landon Mello - Private Pilot!
Landon has been an active member of our chapter for the past 2 years, as part of the Cri Cri Build, and as a Young Eagles volunteer.
He was awarded our second scholarship in the spring of 2023 after completing his first solo. This past summer he was singularly focused and passed his exams and received his Private Pilot License. He graduated in 2022 from San Ramon valley high School, and is currently studying mechanical engineering at Diablo valley college and hoping to transfer next year. Throughout high school he was heavily involved on the robotics team and continues acting as a mentor for the team. He also had the opportunity to be on a BattleBots team for this year's Robogames compilation. After finishing college degree he plans on getting his other certifications.
