Ken Wayne is a recently retired former news anchor at San Francisco's KRON 4 TV, but he is also a private pilot with a small plane and a passion for rescuing animals. He's turned that passion into a 5013c non-profit and is documenting his flights for broadcast and his Flying Tails YouTube Channel.
He started by flying dogs and cats for local California rescues. That's evolved into flights for wildlife organizations, including California Fish & Wildlife, Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue, the Marine Mammal Center, SeaWorld Animal Rescue and more. I've had everything from puppies to bear cubs, goats and a Bald Eagle in my plane. His goal is to join with other pilots to rescue more animals and build awareness for the hard working people who are dedicated to better animal welfare.
